This year\u2019s theme, \u201cDigital Generation, Our Generation,\u201d highlighted the opportunities and challenges of the digital era for young girls.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Africare Peace Initiative\u2019s Executive Director, Rachel Nuhu Birma took the students in a discussion forum, where she took them through the understanding of the advantages and risks associated with the digital generation, particularly the use of social media. She emphasized to them the importance of technology and how this enhances education and career prospects. She also stressed the potential dangers social media can pose if not properly used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharing practical examples, she narrated to them how certain individuals have leveraged the use of the digital platforms and how they have successfully improved their lives by using them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the interactive session, some of the participants asked questions on the appropriate age for a teenager to access social media and when to start a relationship and they each received satisfactory response for the various questions from Ms. Birma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was a huge success as it provided us the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the lives of these&nbsp;young&nbsp;minds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images
