She faced unimaginable tragedy on March 11, 2019, when militants attacked her village, killing many and destroying several properties. Rahila lost her nine-month pregnancy, her hands were cut off, and she sustained machete wounds on other parts of her body. Unfortunately, she also lost her five-year-old son and mother-in-law in the attack. But amid these horrors, Rahila and her three-year-old daughter miraculously survived.

The team, led by Africare Peace Initiative’s Executive Director, Ms. Rachel Nuhu Birma, the Project Officer, Mr. Sadiq Nyelong, and the Administrator, Mrs. Joy Ashin Galadima presented Rahila with items such as rice, noodles, beans, pasta, vegetable oil, palm oil, Maggi, salt, garri, pampers, and cash support to empower her to start a small business that can support her and her daughter. We were deeply disturbed when we heard about Rahila’s situation and immediately sought support from compassionate individuals to help her rebuild her life. Through the generous support of Mr. Jacob, a kind individual from Miango, Plateau State, we received a donation from International Christian Concern (ICC), which was used to help Rahila start her life all over.

<img decoding="async" width="209" height="136" src="https://africarepeace.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Picture4.jpg"
