EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Africare Peace Initiative (API) is a non-profit peacebuilding and humanitarian organization, committed to empowering communities facing the challenges of economic hardship and persistent violence. The organization was founded in 2020 and registered in 2021 with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja, Nigeria – registration number: IT-166157.

We work to address the root causes of poverty and economic hardship across Africa. Through our peacebuilding and livelihood support programs, we restore hope for vulnerable families. Our programs build resilience, empower communities, and equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to overcome hardship and become self-sufficient. With Headquarters located in Lagos, Nigeria, we envision an Africa where everyone, regardless of their background or belief feels safe and prosper.

Our Approach

We take holistic approaches in our peacebuilding effort that include the following:
• Peace Education: We organize workshops and training sessions that teach conflict resolution and nurture a culture of peace among community members and students.
• Economic Empowerment: We provide vocational training for women and teenage girls, to help them start small businesses that can help them become financially independent, so they can support themselves and their families.
• Education: We provide ICT skills, educational support and scholarships to vulnerable children, making sure that they have access to quality education and a brighter future.
• Gender Equality: We run programs that empower vulnerable women and girls and ensure they have equal opportunities to succeed,
• Leadership Development: We cultivate young leaders through mentorship and training programs, preparing them to drive positive change in their communities.
• Community Engagement: We work closely with local communities to understand their unique needs and develop solutions that promote peaceful co-existence, harmony, and growth.

Our Impact

We have in the last 4 years successfully touched the lives of over 1000 lives. From educational scholarships, empowerment, and community peacebuilding events, our efforts have improved the quality of life of people. We measure our success by the smiles of those we help and the positive transformations in their lives. True peace for us is not just about the absence of violence, but building a world where everyone feels safe and has access to freedom, justice, and equal opportunities that can help them succeed.
